Image making

Image making

‘Don’t judge a book by its cover.’ This is true but, as a rule, we admit that the cover gives us useful information about a book’s contents. Before you choose a book you will probably look at the cover, first. In the same manner, when men meet women for the first time, they might guess and judge women by their appearance. In a scene from ‘Secret Garden’ – most popular drama recently, Hyen Bin identified that there are four types of women. Firstly, he imagines a sexy woman. She is wearing a deep cut wide neck sparkling tight dress, and leans over a table. Secondly, he imagines an intelligent career woman. She appears with short cut hair, sharp framed glasses, a white clean collar blouse, holding books in her arms. The third, a cute woman appears. She has long wavy hair tied up on both sides and adorable expressions on her smiling face. Lastly, he imagines an elegant woman. She flaunts expensive jewelry around her neck and a soft fur jacket. All of them are far away from the woman who he is interested in nowadays. He sighed because he always wanted to meet such stylish women. Moreover, he would insist that if he loves someone she must be a certain style among them, at least. His classification also shows us how Korean men classify women and what Korean men expect. Ironically, in the end, he chooses the woman whose style is tomboy, and marries her. Sometimes, in our life, even though you make a plan well organized, it can always change from your expectations. Thus, I say “ Don’t trust any cover too much before reading a book, and ask questions to yourself all the time, so that you do not to stick to some stereotype. Always, stay awake and open.

UN Cemetry

There is an impressive fountain in the UN Cemetery. It is surrounded by many black shiny marble walls. Each wall was connected like Korean Byeon Poong. The whole shape looks like unfolded hard scroll. On the black marble scroll, uncountable names are carved. Those are the names of persons who had died in this land to get back freedom and peace for Korea and the world. Listening to the sound of falling water- like drop of tears, we walked finding out how many people had died in this war. The words which we can't say for them, the water would say instead of us.
